Charlie Stone

Charlie Stone was one of three people who purchased the Montreal Alouettes in 1952.  Along with Fred Skelcher and Roy Robertson purchased the team from the original owners of Lew Hayman, Leo Danderand and Eric Craddock. Stone remained a co-owner until 1954 when the team was soldto majority owner Ted Workman.

Charlie Stone died in a plane crash on November 29, 1963. The crash, which killed 118 people, was at the time the biggest in Canadian aviation history.
