Roy Robertson

Roy Robertson was one of a trio who bought the Montreal Alouettes following the 1951 season. Robertson, along with Carlie Stone and Fred Skelcher bought the Alouttes from the original owners, Lew Hayman, Leo Danderand and Erick Craddock. Robertson and his partners owned the Alouettes until latge in 1954 when they sold the team to Ted Workman and his partners.

Besides being an owner of the Alouettes, Robertson was also President of the team for tgwo years (1952-53), and President of the IRFU / Big Four in 1954. The IRFU which would later become the East division of the modern CFL.

Robertson was a highly successful businessman in the minining sector, but ran afoul of the law in 1962 when he was convicted on fraud charges.
