Sam Young

Out of Illinois State, Sam Young signed with Calgary partway through the 2003 seson on August 20. Young played 8 games for the Stampeders before being released on October 27. Young joined the BC Lions for the 2004 season which was his best year in the CFL. Young recorded 5 interceptions and was named to the West All-Star team. Young remained with the LIons for 2005 and the start of the 2006 season before being released and picked up by Hamilton where he finished the 2006 season. Young signed as a free agent with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2007 and helped stabilize the Bomber backfield in a year that the Bombers went to the Grey Cup and lost to Saskatchewan. Young was with the Bombers for part of the 2008 season, but didn't dress for any games.
