Joe Williams (a)

Williams was a running back from Iowa who played parts of two seasons with Wininpeg in 1962 and 1963.  After leaving Winnipeg in 1962, Williams played 2 games with the Ottawa Rough Riders.  There is no record of Williams for 1964, but in 1965, Williams was back in Canada, but not in the CFL.  Williams played two seasons with the Toronto Rifles of the Continental Football League.  Williams had over a thousand yards rushing in those two years (1088 in 1965 and 1250 in 1966).  Williams returned to the CFL in 1967, moving over to play 9 games with the Argos.  In 1968, Williams returned to the Continental Football League and played in 1968 and 1969 with the Chicago Owls and 1970 with the Newark Jays.
