After palying college ball at San Jose State, Deonce Whitaker signed as a free agent with the BC Lions in August, 2002. Whitaker played five games for the Lions in 2002 mainly as a kick returner and backup running back. The Lions released Whitaker in September, 2002 and he signed wsith Winnipeg for the start of t he 2003 season. Whitaker had a short one game with the Bombers and then signed with Montreal. Whitaker played 12 games for the Alouettes in 2003, rushing for nearly 300 yards and
