Stan Stasica

Stan Stasica was born in Rockford, IL.  Stasica attended Gordon Military Junior College and completed his education with time at South Carolina (1941-42) and Illinois (1945). Stasica was a multi-sport star at college.  Besides playing football, Stasica also led the South Carolina basketball team to a pair of state championships.

Stasica was drafted in the eighth round of the 1944 NFL draft by the Cleveland Rams. Stasica played for the Miami Seahawks of the All American Football Conference (AAFC) in 1946 and then came to Canada in 1947 to play one season with the Saskatchewan (then Regina) Roughriders as a quartgerback and defensive back.

Stan Stasica passed away on July 21, 2012.
