Doug Scott

Doug Scott is the type of player that CFL teams dream about, an impact player who is a non-import.  Scott was born in Montreal and played his college ball at Boise State where he was named the top defensive player in the Big Sky Conference in his final year.  It was a no brainer for the Als to make Scott their #1 territorial exemption in the 1980 CFL College Draft, and Scott joined the Als in 1980 despite interest from several NFL teams.   Scott played for Montreal from 1980 to 1986, though he missed all of 1983 due to an knee injury during a pre-season game.  Scott played defensive tackle and supplied strong quarterback pressure up the middle, recording 44 career sacks with a high of 12 in 1984.  Scott was a three time East All-Star (1982, 1984 and 1985) and was the Montreal nominee for Outstanding Canadian in 1981.
