Ed Rowland

Ed Rowland was born in Oklahoma, but his family moved to Texas where he played on a state champioinship highschool team in 1946. From there, Rowland went to Oklahoma for three years and was an All American tackle and a member of the national champion ship t eam in 1951. Rowland joined the Ottawa Rough Riders for one season in 1953 and dressed for 9 games. Rowland served in the U.S,. Army after Ottawa and retired with the rank of Major in 1973 after being awarded the Bronze Star and serving in Vietnam.

Note: Some records list Rowlands DOB as February 29 (including the obit below), but offical records list it as February 25, 1930.

Ed Rowland passed away on June 1, 2010.
