Michael Richardson

After a tryout with the New York Giants of the NFL in 1991, Richardson was signed by Winnipeg in April of 1992.  In his rookie season, Richardson rushed for over a thousand yards and was both an Eastern and an All-Canadian selection as well as being named the outstanding roookie in the CFL for 1992.  Richardson fell just short of the thousand yard mark in 1993, but his pass receptions nearly doubled, leading to a second Eastern and All-Canadian selection.  Richardson became a free agent in February of 1994 and was signed by Ottawa and spent the next two seasons (1995-96) with the Riders.  Richardson's stats, especially rushing, declined in his two seasons in Ottawa and he was released in May of 1996 and then resigned by the Bombers on June 12 of 1996.  Richardson split his 1996 season with the Bombers between playing and the practice roster before being released on October 25, 1996. Winnipeg resigned Richardson in May of 1997, but he was again released.
