Stefen Reid was born in Merritt, BC and attended Boise State. Reid was selected in the bonus round of the 1995 CFL College Draft by the Ottawa Roughriders in 1995. After one season with the Riders, Reid was traded to Montreal for Stephen Bates. Like most young players, Reid was initially used mainly on special teams, recording 24 and 28 special teams tackles in his first two seasons. As his career progressed, Reid saw more time on defence, hitting a high in 71 defensive tackles in 1998. Another highlight of the 1998 season was Reid's only career touchdown scored on an intercepton return. In 2002, Reid had his second highest total for t ackles with 64 defensive tackles, and earning an East -All-Star at linebacker in what turned out to be his final season. Reid layed in two Grey Cups while with the Alouettes, losing to BC in 2000, and beating Edmontin in 2002. After leaving football as a player, Reid has stayed with the sport and is currently (2011), the President and Director of Football Operatoins for the Kamploops Broncos, a junior football team in BC.
