Odie Posey

Odie Posey was an outstanding running back at Southern from 1947 to 1950. During Posey's time, Southern was an amazing 46-2-2 and Posey won four Southwester Athletic Conference All-Stars. In 1949, Posey led the nation in rushing with 1399 yards. Posey had a tryout with the Los Angelas Rams of the NFL in 1951 and then went into the military where he was an all-service all-star. Posey played briefly with the Calgary Stampeders in 1955, recording one interception as a defensive back. Posey returned to Southern and finished his degree in 1957 and then went into business in Baton Rouge, LA. Odie Posey passed away on February 26, 2010.
