Ron Parson

Ron Parson started his university career at Auburn, before transferring to Austin Peay (1964-66). Parson was drafted by both the AFL and the NFL. The AFL Oakland Raiders drafted Parson in the third round while the NFL San Francisoco 49erstook Parson in the 18th round. Parson ended up coming to Canada and playing one season for the Montreal Alouettes in 1967. Parson was a tight end and placekiker at university, but was used pretty much exclusively as akicker with the Larks. Parson was then traded to the Ottawa Rough Riders for 1968, ut elected to return to college to complete his degree.

Following his playing days, Parson worked as a farmer and selling insurance. In 1984, Parson was named to the Austin Peay Sports Hall of Fame.
