Muhammad was a 12th round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders of the NFL in 1980 , but Muhammad signed with the instead with the Toronto Argos. Muhammad, however missed the entire season due to injuries and was released. Muhammad had stints in the NFL with the now Los Angelas Raiders, Washington and San Diego. He returned to the CFL in 1987 when he resigned with Toronto, but was released in September, 1987 after playing just two games. Muhammad signed again with Saskatchewan in 1990, but did not play any regular season games with the Riders.
