Hugh McKinnis was a bright star who shone for a short t hree years in the CFL from 1970 to 1972 with Calgary and Ottawa. McKinnis burst into the CFL in 1970, leading the West in Rushing with 1135 yards and winning both West and CFL All-Star honours. His numbers slipped a bit in 1971, but he still ran for 910 yards which was good enough for fourth in the West, and his pass receptions actually increased from 20 to 32. In 1972, McKinnis played 6 games with Calgary before moving to Ottawa to play 4 games.
The 1972 CFL stats don't give the split between his stats for Ottawa and Calgary.
