Don Kubesh

Don Kubesh played junior football for the Winnpeg Rods and then intermediate football with the St. Vital Bulldogs. During these years, Kubesh also attended the Univerity Manitoba and obtained his teaching degree, but did not play for the bisons. Kubesh joined the Saskatchewan Rughriders, who were high on his combination of speed and toughness, for one season in 1955.  Kubesh played 15 games as a backup at corner linebacker and fullback. The Riders tried to trade Kubesh to Edmonton in 1962 for Roy Cameron, but Kubesh declined to go to Edmonton as he wanted to pursue his law education full time.
