Don King was born in Regina and played junior football with the Regina Dales. King moved up to play for the Roughriders in 1940 and 1941. With the outbreak of World War II, King played for the Regina Navy team in 1942 and a Regina Armed Forces team in 1943. While these teams were not officially the Roughriders, they had mainly Roughriders on the team King returned to play for the Roughriders after the war in 1945 and 1946.

Don King passed away on June 28, 1986.
