Wil Johnson

Johnson was a fifth round draft pick (138th overall) of the Chicago Bears of the NFL in 1987. Johnson also had a tryout with the New Orleans Saints after being released by Chicago. Johnson began his outstanding CFL career in August of 1989 when he was signed by the Calgary Stampeders. He played nine years in the CFL, eight with Calgary before signing as a free agent with Saskatchewan in June of 1998. Johnson retired in September of 1998. Johnson was named a Western (Northern in 95) at DE for six consecutive years from 1990 through 1995 and for the five of those years (91-95), he was also an All Canadian selection. In 1991, Johnson was named the outstanding defensive player in the West and the runner-up in the CFL.
