Charles (Chick) Graning

Chick Graning played at Georgia Tech (1959-61) and was drafted by both the AFL Denver Broncos (19th round) and the NFL St. Louis Carinals (9th round) in the 1961 college drafts. Graning, however would instead join the U.S Military and played for Fort Benning from 1962 to 1965. Fllowing his discharge from the military, Graning played one season with the Columbus Mustangs and then two seasons for the BC Lions in 1966 and 1967. While listed as a backup quarterback, Graning saw action almost exclusively on defence and recorded five pass intereptions in 13 games in 1966. Graning also handled some of the punting for the Lions in 1966.
