Lorne Buser

A product of the State College of Iowa (now the University of Northern Iowa) football program (1963-65) Buser was invited to the Alouettes 1966 training camp. He made the team to become the only rookie import on the 1966 squad. His career in the CFL was brief - he was waived on September 15, 1966 by coach Darryl Mudra after just four games. He stayed with the team through the rest of the year on the practice roster, and dressed for two more games.  Invited back to the 1967 Alouettes camp, Buser failed to beat out veteran Wilbert Scott and was released. Buser was inducted into the UNI Hall of fame in 1988. He currently (as of 2010) resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he owns an insurance agency.
