Eugene Belliveau

After playing his college football at St. Francis Xavier, Eugene Belliveau was a third round draft pick by Montreal (23rd overall) in the 1980 Canadian College Draft. After playing five years with the Alouettes (1980-84), Belliveau was traded to Calgary in 1985 for punter / receiver Mike McTague. Belliveau played another five years for the Stampeders (1985-1989) and had a solid ten year CFL career. Belliveau could be counted to put good pressure on the Quarterback, recordeding 41 career quarterback sacks, with his best season coming in his final season in 1989 with 10. Belliveau also recorded four fumble recoveries during his career and one interception, a fairly uncommon occurance for a defensive lineman.
